Short bio

I'm a third year PhD student working in the MT group at Fondazione Bruno Kessler. I am currently working on improving direct speech-to-text translation systems from the point of views of algorithms and data. I am also interested more broadly in machine translation and deep learning.

My research experience, besides my PhD, includes an internship at CNR of Palermo in 2016 where I worked on sarcasm detection, and one internship at Amazon AI at East Palo Alto, California, where I worked on machine translation.

I took my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science at University of Palermo, respectively in 2014 and 2016.
